It would require 191,000 square miles of solar panels to power the whole earth with solar energy

According to the US Energy Information Administration, global energy consumption is estimated to reach 678 quadrillions Btu by 2030. To generate this amount of energy using solar power, 496,805 square kilometers (191,817 square miles) of solar panels would be needed, based on an assumption of 20% efficiency, 70% sunshine days per year, and 1,000 watts of solar energy per square meter of land on Earth.
